I need to replace the fork seals on my 85 250sx. what do you estimate that will run me? any guesses?

$15. each side replace seals..(Approx)

.
$3 for cat litter to clean up garage floor from oil spill
$4 for oil remover to get it off your hands (and whatever else it sprayed on to)
$5-6 for aspirin
$30 to replace hole in wall after you realize the dam things wont come apart.
$25-$50. For the guys at whatever shop to take the bottom bolt out for ya. ( i actually got em to do it for me for free)
$100. for the day off from work to fix hole in wall.
$5-6 again for another bottle of aspirin. (You used up the first one)

I am sorry Trikotic...that sounded terrible huh...Anyway it is very important that first thing you do is get that bolt out at bottom. And a little air compressor aint gonna do it. you need a bigger one, with major impacting power. However if your not interested in checking your springs I know a little trick to get those seals out without messing with the bottom bolt.

yep $30 for seals ,,,,, you going to take them out of the clamps to do this? if so break the bolt in the bottom of the forks first then dissassemble take tho top cap out too turn them upside down in a coffee can to drain the oil be careful not to let the spring go flyin out its alot less messy too,,,,,,,,,,

sounds like a lot of work, i might just cave in and pay a shop to hook it up. i've been able to fix pretty much all the other crap on the bike but fork seals seem like a pain in the junk. :mad:
