So my 350x headlights didnt work. I wen to Honda and picked up some 400ex bulbs and threw them in. The headlight worked perfect. Then i shut it off. I went out there right now to load it up and started it. The lights dont work......It did for a sec but it was only one bulb then i tried messing with the socket, both came on then they just shut off. Any ideas??? Did the bulb burn out? They are 12v 30w bulbs
350 uses 12v 35w 55w bulbs

Dads, the 350x stock has 2 12v 35w, 36.5w, Not 55w for the highbeam.

Double checked, in fact triple checked. Does WD40 worok OK with electrical connections? i Heard it was good for it. What else should i try. The bulbs still look brand new.

Grounds on the bulbs? Or the ones next to them? Simple, green wires right?
And dads, anything less then 35 burn out? Isn t just the brightness lowered a little?

So i just got back from the dunes (very short trip).
But while i was up there i figured id take alook at the wiring. So I took a multimeter to it and noticed the plug that is coming up to hook up all the front wiring read 80volts. So i threw a bulb (new one) in there. Started it up, lights were perfect. Then i hit the gas and the bulb blew! Any ideas? Way too much voltage??

You need to check your voltage regulator. It is on the back of the trike, kinda under the fender latch. If it is disconnected or bad, the bulbs will blow.
Also, set your multimeter to AC when checking the lighting circuit, 350X lighting is AC.

WD40 is fine/excellent for cleaning electrical connections, been using it all my life. the military has a MIL-SPEC product called, "cleaner, water inhibiter, electrical" (or something to that effect), i'm about 90% sure its WD40 also. it has a very distinct smell and texture, not too hard to identify.
and, yes it sounds like your regulator is out, mine is too, does exactly the same thing.
Dammit!

Are the regulators still available new?

Is the regulator a greey box with two wires coming out? because i cant find it.Thats probably my reason of failure lol.
And i did have it on AC.
Thanks for the replies
