Hi, I have a 1984 200x this isn't jetted properly, plus the needle jet is a little worn out and should be replaced. its burning pretty rich. But I was just wondering if there would be a noticeable increase in power if it was properly jetted? But the motor is bored .25 over and has a supertrapp pipe and doesnt run the best after it gets hot, so I trimmed the bottom of the front fender and put five 1.5 inch holes in the back of it to get better airflow. Any suggestions?

I'd say in general any bike would should run better with the proper jetting

You may wanna just upgrade your carb. The previous owner of my '86 200x had the same heat problems when he installed a bassani exhaust. To fix it he installed a larger carb and viola. It's a freakin beast with the new carb, exhaust and k&n filter.

If you are going to buy a carb. Buy one for a XR200. Get carb and intake. Do search for part numbers. I have listed somewhere on this site before.
If jetted properly. Will run BETTER.
The reason for XR carb is 2mm bigger. I installed one on mine. Helped performance, mainly throttle response. Had to rejet to make right. Starts on 1st-2nd kick everytime.

I am going to search for those numbers, my 200x is a runner but a little more power would be nice. Any other carbs that are even better than the xr200?
