View Full Version : what do i need to make my 85 200x forks stiffer???

some one told me to put a pvc pipe in what size and how long has anyone ever done this and how does it work also post pics if you have them

The PVC spacer goes in the forks on top of the springs. The purpose of the spacer is to push down on the spring, increasing the preload (making them stiffer). I'm not sure what size PVC you need for the 200x but you can also use a socket. Just make sure it fits in there good and both sides are exactly the same size.

If I wanted to do this to my 85R what size socket or pvc would I need and what is a good length 1 inch or 3 inches?

I think the logest I could go was 1.250"s on my 200X or I couldn't get the cap back on.

Support the front end or you'll get a spring in the mouth :D
