ok, alot of people have been askin about forks ,so here you go,,,

i will tear down a fork for a 250r and kinda explain what to look for, this is the fork out of the clamp, i loosened the top and the bolt in the bottom before unclamping to make it easier also drained the oil overnight ,

now i removed the dust cover to reveal the seal and snap ring ,this can be a real pain if you don't have the proper snap ring pliers

now that that is out you can take hold of the slider and tube just like using a slide hammer bump them apart , now you have the slider off, out comes the seal a bushing and a spacer, now you can check the bore on the slider for nicks, gouges and wear these happen to be in good shape ,

now removed the top cap so the springs will come out, this is off a 85 thats why it has two springs , the dampening rod has a small seal on the top of it , this one is worn pretty good so i'll replace it . the bushings have a coating on them i think its teflon, they all look good there is also a bushing on the end of the tube itself which runs in the slider it also looks good, so it looks like a dampening rod seal and top seals and they will be ok for a while ,they would be totally rebuilt if i replaced all the bushings too, but these will be a backup set so i think they will be ok,,,,

The 200X forks look nearly identical. With the exception of the tube diameter and travel length, what are the differences (if any)?

Hey cool write up.....can one of you computer genius transfer this to general tech?
I think they are the same too but could be wrong.....I know my 200x are virtually the same as the 350x....I use the 350x manual to help me rebuild my 200x fork.

what's the best way to install the new seals if you don't have the honda tool?

Get a piece of PVC pipe that will fit down over the slider and use it to drive the seal in.
