The plastic on my trike is real faded and has some bend marks, so I was thinking about repainting it. What is the proper procedure for this as far as sanding, primer etc? Also, what kind of paint works the best and do you need to use a clear coat?

Thanks
(Also let me know if this is a stupid idea)

You would need to add a flex-additive like that used in painting bumper covers on newer cars (I used to do body-work). My concern would be what kind of riding you do. If you ride in woody areas, the brush repeatedly hitting the fenders, etc. would start to scratch adn chip at the paint. Also, my rear fenders tend to take a lot of load when I ride whoops, etc. and hang as far back as I can to keep the front end light, this puts my legs up against the rears with quite a bit of weight. Your best bet would probably be to sand down and then buff/polish the plastic. This is just my humble opinion.

Buy new plastic...do not paint it. :bash:
