I recently pulled the reeds out of my tri-z. they are metal. Are these stock? have never seen metal reeds before. Was told these were aftermarket poss from back in the day. Worth keeping?
also, what kinda of 38mm carb is good for the z? Ive snooped around Evilbay and found a few. Is there one that works better for this trike??
thanks yall:hail:

The stock reeds, as most stock reeds are metal. The fiber ones in a Z are usually Boysen. Boysen fiber reeds make a noticeable difference over stock steel ones.
I think youll hate the 38mm carb, unless youve got a ton of serious engine modifications. Your results may vary, but I put a 34mm on one, and a 36mm on the other of mine, with a ported cylinder, and the 34 actually performed better than the 36. The 36 runs good on top, but I lost a lot of low end with it. These are old Mikuni round slide carbs

sweet info, thanks. It runs great right now. Real snappy on the bottom and smooth out on top. Actually pulls away from my YFZ450. Might just leave well enough alone. Thanks again for the info.:hail: :hail:
