My 81 185s has a slight miss in it, so I pulled the plugwire off (its gettin a little ratty lookin) and checked it with a digital ohm meter and compared the specs to my Clymer manual. The wierd thing is is that no matter where I probe the coil wire the ohm meter reads no resistance! I tried rotating the boot of the wire (part that goes on the plug)and I still get nothin'. I cant believe it has no resistance! I checked a automobile plug wire (just to make sure the meter wasnt flaky) and it read resistance fine.
Whatta ya think? Also, does anybody know where we can get replacement wires (honda and psp want to sell wires WITH coils).
Thanks

i know canadian tire sells them
Trikes us a copper core wire. no resistance.
Cars use a carbon or graphite resistance core so you do not hear the plugs fire over your radio.
But all wires have a resistance in ohms, or the wire is broke or a bad conection at the spark plug end.you should get almost the same reading from the wire .That you get when you touch the two ohm meter leeds to gether. You loss 1 ohmm of resistance for each connection .
Oh I use copper core raceing wire on my 250sx. look for a hot rod parts store. see if you can buy it by the foot.

go to a good hardwhere shop or an outo parts store or even a lawnmower shop its just lawnmower wire. its 8mm i do belive someone please corect me if im wrong but i know thats what i use on my 110 and 200. and the only resistance should come from the spark plug cap. if it has a resistor.
