Dan,

I was finally able to get around to finding the pictures of the Taurus trike. I should have them ready by early afternoon today (May 6th).

WOW!!!! never heard of them. Were they made in Canada Levi?. What info do you have on them. 2-stroke/4-stroke what sizes did they come in. With the running board`s they look kind of like a polaris trike.

Yes, they were made in Canada, by Ontatio Drive and Gear Ltd., in New Hamburg, Ontario.

It has a Briggs & Stratton 650cc twin cylinder engine (4-stroke), dual range transmission (Hi & Low range), it has suspension front and rear, a twist throttle.

Their top speed wasn't very fast, only about 40mph. It's no speed demon, but it could out pull almost any other trike. Torque, torque, torque!

:hail: Levi :headbang:

did you take it for a test ride? I've heard on other sites that it was gutless, but with a 650cc twin that's pretty hard to believe. :iluvu:

Thanks.

No, I didn't take it for a test ride, but I did see it in action.

It isn't really gutless, it just takes a while to get up to it's top speed. Remember, it's a torque monster... It make a Big Red look like a sport trike! This think is strictly for going slow. For hunters, fishermen, outdorsmen, etc.

No, the trike isn't mine. The guy who owns it is trying to sell it. I just phoned him and asked him if I could take some pictures of it for my archives.

Yeah, it still runs, and runs great! It sat for about 8 months or so, and it fired right up when the owner started it for me.

The trike is (I think) a 1986 model... It doesn't say anywhere on the trike or maunuals.

Levi do you know what other year`s they made them?. And just curious how much is he asking for it?.

No, I'm not buying it. I've got other priorites. Right now, I'm in the middle of trying to restore my 350x, put new swingerarm bearing in my 250r, redo the front suspension of my Polaris, rebuild the front forks and replace the rear bearings on my 200es, AND I'm dealing on a '67 Firebird.

So, no, I don't think I'm going to be buying the Taurus.

The guy is asking $1850 (Canadian), which works out to about $1200 - $1300 U.S.

200xRyder, Ontario Drive and Gear are still in bussiness, and parts are still available for the Taurus.
