can i put a 87 200x engine into a 84 200x frame? if i understand correctly the 87 has four valves and a six speed tranny. that would be nice since it looks like i have a 200s engine right now.
thanks

not without modification tot he frame. the 86/87's are a rea step up from the 83-85's so that would be very cool if you coudl try that. Why would you bother though? you cna get the correct engine to jsut go right in for a very low amount of cash. A 86/87 bike is very very hard to find, a motor would be even harder.

"Hey Chris,
I had a gasket go out on me while i was riding and i didn't notice until
it was extremly low on oil. I added oil to it but it was to late. It had
started smoking and developed a slight knock. I tore into it and found the
knock was caused by slack in the connecting rod. I bought a new rod and
crank pin and all the bearings that it needs on the crank. I had the
cylinder bored and got an art piston and rings kit to fit. I also bought a
new clutch kit for it but i cracked the pressue plate trying to get it off
with out an impact. I priced the presue plate and it was around 40 bucks
original honda part. You might find it cheaper online somewhere. I have no
idea about the 84 axle fitting. Only thing that might be different would be
the brakes. This bike had rear disc brakes.
