Ok,
Just put on a 5 inch ext swing, now my shock feels very soft (I know different leverage).
I see the adjustment nuts on bottom of spring, do i loosen the lock nut and then crank the other up to compress the spring?
How much nitogen should be in the shock resivoir?
I wiegh about 220, will this do much for me or do I need to revalve mine?

Yes a Revalve will do the Trick, Make sure you tell them your Swingarm is extended 5 inches.

I would like to know if I can just rotate the compression nut, to make my rear shock work until I can revalve it.

You're definitely going to need a stiffer spring for that shock also. Cranking the collar down on your spring only adjusts your ride height and does not change the springs rate. And like Ceaser said, you are going to need a revalve for your weight and the extended swinger.

Cool, Thank you for the info - Will plan on a revalve and spring set up.
What place is best for this job?

PEP is a good choice or Custom Axis.

They wrote me back, they said they hadnt done a rebuild on a 1985 Honda ATC 250r - So his answer was really vaig....
He priced me for a new spring for my weight - and siad the rebuild depends on what they see when they get my shock.
So I got nothing.
I am goin to a local san diego shop that will rebuild and revalve my stock shock adn a new spring for my weight and ext swing.
300.00
