Anyone know how to interpret frame numbers for Honda 3 wheelers? I want to identify a bike that someone wants to sell via email, and I'd like to make sure what it is. It seems that I've seen this info on the web somewhere, but I can't remember where.

If you can write down the numbers that are on it. I could probable tell you what it is. The numbers should be on the steering stem just below the handle bars.

As far as i can tell. It is a 81 200. So it should look a lot like my 82 200 i have in my signature. They were great trikes but no front or rear suspension on them.

Thanks, Fuzzy. The seller is saying that this bike might be a 200x, of which I already have one, and wanted this for parts. Big difference there. I'll ask him for a couple of pictures to verify.

He might be right i couldnt find the chart i was looking for for it. And here is a number from a 83 200x JH3TB0526DC263800~
So it could very well be a 83 200x. Let me know what you come up with.

I've answered my own question! I knew I had seen this before. Here's the way the number breaks down:
Sample No. JH3 TB052 3 D C 325427
JH3: This is the "Type and Make" number. All are Honda's, obviously, but this number denotes motorcycles, atc's, etc, and the country of manufacture.
TB052: Vehicle Description Code. This number is for a 200X
3: Check Digit (don't worry about this one)
D: Year of manufacture. B='81, C='82, D='83.....
C: Plant where manufactured
325427: Sequential production number.
I found this info on a Honda parts fiche for the 200X that I recently purchased off of ebay.
