Well, I took the "Bumble-Z" out for the first time this weekend. Ran pretty good. I definitely like the suspension/handling a little better than my 350X...

Now for the problem- it quit running on me today. I'm a newbie at 2-strokes, so maybe someone can help. It was running pretty good- not great, but okay. A little sluggish from a standstill (just trail riding, etc.), and didn't want to idle once it warmed up. I rode it quite a bit yesterday, and went for a couple mile ride this morning, and when I got back to camp, it acted like it ran out of gas. There seemed to be plenty of gas in it (all riding has been on same tank of gas). It sat outside last night (only 40 degrees or so at night), and again, I rode it a bit this morning before the problem developed. It turns freely when kicking, will sometimes start and idle, but kind of sputters when you rev it up, and then, blahhhhh. Just dies...

Any ideas? Also, since I just bought this (and it's my first 2-stroke), what sort of things should I look at or just replace? Reeds or anything like that?

thanks for the help guys...
Tony;)

I'll try that. Anyone know what the gap should be?? Also, what kind of fuel mix ratio do you guys run? I'm not sure I mixed it right...

I mixed it at about 4 oz of oil per gallon of gas. I figured that to be 32:1. Is that right? There's 128 oz/gallon, right? (I was trying to figure this out while in the desert- away from conversion tables and my computer!)

4 oz=32:1 Thats that i run. Have you cleaned the silt bowl under the shutoff on the fuel pump. the carb may need cleaning.

Yep i think something plugged it sure sounds like it is not getting enough gas. Maybe pull your fuel line off and check for flow.

And didnt i read in one of the posts that the tri-z uses a gas pump?.

Your right on that Fuzzy. They have a vaccum fuel pump. the plastic line on the right side of jug bass goes to the fuel pump. check it for leaks. if you pull the line off at the carb you will have to kick it over to get fuel to pump out. This system is not gravity feed. This system has two shutoffs one on pump that has silt bowl and one between pump and carb.

make sure the vacuum line running to the fuel pump is in good shape or just go ahead & replace it to be safe. The pumps are also very easy to rebuild if you need to go that route.
