CR500 Engine Questions

I have a CR500 motor and am trying to find out what year it is. . . . is there any markings/or places to run the case numbers to find out

My Honda dealer told me they cant tell me anything with the engine serial

Also there is a stamp on the edge of the jug sleeve (skirt) that says "86" im not sure if that means anything or not

And does anyone possibly have a shift shaft for this motor

What is the engine s/n? If it is a 1988 and newer my book will say what year it is.
