I have an '87 250SX that is shot but the electric starter and all electrics are in good working order. Does anyone know if the flywheel covers for the SX and 350X are interchangable? I was thinking of installing the flywheel side cover, stator, starter, and complete wiring harness off the SX on to the X which would make a very nice electric starter system for the X if it would work. I don't currently have a 350X to check this out and first wanted to see if any of yall have tried this. Any info you can give will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hey, a 300ex sidecase will fit a 350x. there is a small problem other than switchin the electricals.....the 350x engine center cases do not have anywhere to bolt the starter to. The only place it will be bolted is into the sidecase, not very safe. If you were to do this conversion, you would have to fab up some sort of bracket that would mount to the other sidecase to give enuff support to the starter motor.
