just swapped out the stock bearings for allballs tapered bearings today on my 86 200x tightened that four prong nut deal till it caused some drag on the tripples when turned, then test rode it around the house felt okay till i popped up the front wheel a couple times and feels like the front ends still a little loose.... like when you grab both fork sliders of the ground theres a little forward backward movement

so does anyone know what the correct way to tighten them or how much?

any help is appreciated:D

the bearings were not set retorque the nut. the front end should hold at any angle you turn the fork when the preload is set right.. this is with the front tire off thr ground. ( shouled not flop back and forth. )

thank you for the reply.

so should i torque it to the honda ball bearing specs to seat them then undo it and torque it to the final torque specs like the service manual says? i was unsure and didnt want to somehow crush or tweak the bearings:doh:

now that you road it and set them retorque. allbal are tapered roller bearings and will take more torque than stock round bearings. thats aq good place to start...
