electrical problems

Well, one day i was washin the ol' BigRed. and got the battery wet like i always do in the past and nothing happens. but this time for some reason it hissed, crackled and smoked. so i took it out and dryed it and for some reason it must short circuted and fryed up. Well last time i tryed i can still turn on the headlight with the battery in, but when i take out the battery and start the engine the light didnt work!!! i know that even there is no battery the engine stator should keep it on. I know the bulb is good and i know the fuse is good. HELP ME!! please

Start with the easy and cheap things first. Check all your wiring. Make sure no wires are worn through and grounding out on the frame. If thats ok check all the connections and made sure they're making good contact with each other.
