hello first of all thanks for letting me part of ur forum. i am now in the process of trying to get a 1986 honda 200x. i have driven a friends big red and have really wanted a trike for myself. long story short, a guy in my neighborhood has the 200x. its just been sitting in his yard for over a year now. he has no idea how to work on them. when he first got it, i took a look at it and it did turn over and it did have spark. tank is rusted out. now i really want it cuz i figure its just gonna waste away in his yard. problem is i don't know how much its worth. he told me he would sell it to me (finally lol) but i don't know what its worth. i have some pics i took with my phone. if yall could take a look and tell me what its worth id appreciate it. thanks again.
ps. im in east texas in case that matters.

I've bought alot of collectors bikes and what not over the years, and something in that type of shape that hasn't been running, I would agree with FlyingW, 200 would be what I would offer and go from there, I wouldn't give him any more than 400. I payed 600 for my TriZ and it runs, has near perfect plastics, and has a new top end.

I agree I wouldn't offer more than 400 for it, it looks like it spent time outside in the weather. If the guy wants more than that, he must like it sitting in the yard as a lawn ornament.

this is thinking ahead but if i was to get it what would be the first things id need to check before trying to crank other than to try to fix the tank and clean the carb?

oil change first and foremost. Fresh spark plug couldn't hurt either. Check the chain and lube as needed. Jack up the trike and be sure the rear wheels rotate freely as well as the front wheel. Beyond that, the front forks probably need to be pulled, and rebuilt, Im sure the oil in the forks is shot. Check your sprockets real well. If in doubt, replace both sprockets and the chain together. Valve adjustment will probably be in order too. You can download a manual here:
