So in the past week I've ridden my 350x at a motorcross track twice and absolutely love it. But the suspension seems to be a little lacking in terms of jumping so I am turning to you guys to help me build up my suspension to take jumps. DC over on 3ww said someone named Bill on here had a good set up and I'd like to hear more about it.

I'd love to get inverted forks on my 350x, has anyone ever done this before? I've seen it on R's but never a 350x.

My suspension after some big jumps (maybe 5-6ft high and 15ft across)

he goes by Black sheep on here. i don't think he will recommend inverts though. when i was on a 350X i had them redone by PEP, front and back. they were incredible after they were done. they had them for a very long time.

all i did was take the parts off and sent them to PEP but be prepared for big $$$$. i got mine done free but i would hate to see what it would have cost if i paid for them. there may very well a better setup but that is what i had. even with the PEP setup i was torchering the bike and bottoming out hard on the big stuff. but of course i bottom out my freestyle bike all the time and it has $2800 in 3 shocks. if you have it set up for MX one thing to remember is that it is OK to bottom out now and then as long as it is not hard enough to knock your feet off the pegs. if you never bottom out ever then you are not getting the full suspension travel.

i am sure that there are good setups that you can do for much cheeper than the PEP route but someone else will have to give that info.

you may want to take those factory fenders off there before you brake them. if i were going to MX with a 350X i would not take the chance of braking them. those look nice from what i can see.

when you set up a bike for MX there are a couple thinks to consider also. you must give yourself an honest evaluation of your abilities. if you come up a little short or a little long on jumps, your smoothness, and consistency. the better you are the softer you will like your suspension because you will down side the jumps. the less experience you have the stiffer you will want it so that the suspension will make up for the errors. with the 350X back suspension you may want it a little stiff anyway. there are many factors for setting up your suspension but these are a couple to consider. i could go on and on with shock setup but i just don't know if i can help with the best method of modification

I'll post up the other video later today hopefully, riding MX tires me out so fast though, I get a few good laps in then have to kinda slow it down....

LOL, i would go to work the next day after a MX race and everyone would say
"you were riding a 4 wheeler, why are you so sore and tired" people just have no idea what it takes. people just can't comprehend that 3 and 4 wheeler racers are athletes.

you should point out that bill does not offer ANY conversions for the older trikes.

Anyone putting inverts on a 350x better have the steering neck and backbone reinforced.

that is what i was referring to when i said that i didn't think he would recommend inverts on the 350X. i never done it but hear that it is not a good idea. almost all my experience with a 350X is with the stock geometry and modified shock and forks.
