I'm getting ready for the 3rd annual rampage, and want to dress my 85 250sx up a little. So far, there is new plastic all over, engine painted, new handlebars, new powder coated tank. In my 80's racing days, spun aluminum wheels were the rage, as it was either them or the stocker steel.
I'm going to get some paddle tires, and aluminum wheels for the rear, an aluminum rim for the front with a rib tire. Whats the "in style" rims I need to be looking for? Hopefully somebody is making some for the drum brake models?

Help me!

This is my ride. Mainly used for hunting and utility things around the farm, but I do love to hit the sand and look cool doing it!

Douglas makes the most affordable wheeles out there. If you are mounting paddles, you can get away with the .120 wall wheels which are suitable for sand use. Just make sure they have the correct backspacing to clear the large drum on the sx models. I'm sure someone on here will know if they do.

I bought 300EX tires/wheels for mine, and can only imagine you can get the same out of any of the EX or TRX models out there.

NICE looking SX!:headbang:

I've never owned paddle tires either, as my old R had enough HP and tire speed it didn't need them on the sand.
How many paddles do I need on the tires for the HP of this ride? Would sand skates be better? Do like to hill climb so that would be a factor.

not sure of the size of your front rim but if u run into problems with getting the tire u want, but not able to fit the rim.. if it is an 11" wheel your selection is slim...

Call "Bones" at omfperformance products..( 951-354-8272)

They have the facility's to make any wheel for any machine... They made a 12" wheel for a 350x i built.. not sure if u can clear the 10" wheel with the drum on the front..

I got the 10" scat trac Gliders with polished aluminum wheels. Haven't got them mounted on the trike yet, but am going to go ahead and order a polished aluminum wheel and mount the current front tire on it. I'll post a pic when everything gets mounted.
