SO my question is ... is rebuilding a shock rocket science?

I'd like to rebuild the one on my T-3, I've looked into other options 300ex or banshee or raptor. If rebuilding isn't so hard I'd probably give it a try.

However from what I've read the raptor shocks are non serviceable. Can I mount my T-3 Resovoir on the shock and then just recharge it with Nitro? I suppose if I could get the stock raptor shock to mount the resovoir in the same spot as the T-3 I'd take a rapror shock.

I've heard yes and no on the rebuild. As long as you can get someone to charge it properly and find the parts then it shouldn't be all that hard. Let us know what you come up with. I think only the early raptor shock will work since later ones had a shock-mounted res.

I have already rebuild 2 rear kxt 86 shocks. It must be made from someone who has the equipment for this! And change the shock seal. After the rebuild the shock works great and has alot of adjusments.here they usually take 60euro for this job without the seal.

I found that on ebay, I wonder if thats all I need. My shock was working when I bought the back. I'm sure my big but blew it out last year.

You will also need the piston band....very important part often overlooked. You also need to set up the shock with the correct spring for your "big butt" as you put it. LOL

Contact Sblt500 on here for re-build info. He has all the parts in stock, can re-charge the Nitrogen and has re-built MANY '86/'87 T-3 rear shocks.
