I am new to all of this but I am trying to get some input on how long of a swingarm I should put on my 86' r. I am having a puma 4 mill built and am wondering if I should go with a 8 inch extended or bigger? Any one with any expeience with this kinda motor in a trike?

Need more info first.
1. Who built the motor
2. What type of riding is the motor built for
3. What pipe are you running
4. What fuel/carb are you running
5. what paddles are you running
6. can you hang on j/k on that

the motor is being built by patriot racing here in washington. it is being built for drag and duning. I am going to run a 12 paddle drag light tire probably 22 inch tall. An oof pipe made by either shearer or cpi. And i think 90 hp is going to be alittle much to just work the throttle on these wheelie machines

yeah he is a good guy to deal with. from what i hear he is known for building fast and reliable motors. he did a stock cylinder for me before and it was really strong all the way through.

Wayyyyy to much paddle for your bike.

+8 would be the shortest I would go. +10 would be ideal. YES you can still dune ride a +10, people that say you cant have never tried it. Spend the money and run the shear, either inframe or OOF, either are good choices unless your going to run alky, then OOF would be the only choice

the 2 fastest trikes in the country don't run that much paddle....

standard tranny or override?

yeah i was kinda thinking a +10 would be better. what would you say is a better paddle choice is, a 10 paddle? I am not going to put an override in it, I really like dune ride so I think i will keep a regular tranny in it. I talked to shearer and they said they wouldn't make me a in frame for a trike only an oof.

22x11x8 9 paddle SLS 76 roll out...10 paddle would work, just would have you lifting nearly every gear and your clutch would need replacing more often. A little less paddle on a standard tranny is good. Make sure you have a lock out installed before taking it out, otherwise you will be burning clutch plates every wkend event.

Matt could make you an inframe, but dont think it would be cheap..close to 8 bills

got any pictures of your bike?

FYI...my trike chassis will be for sale soon, its +10 swingarm with chrome sub chassis and has been lightened as much as possible and still maintained safety. If intrested let me know

I am always interested in another trike chassis or complete. Guessing that a puma is what you run who built it and what carb do you run?? Have you ever ran or heard of anyone running the billet yukon tranny gears, I have heard they are really tough but never really seen any proof of that. I guess i will look for some nine or ten paddles then thanks for the info and do you know what shearer charges for a oof?? why you selling your chassis dont tell me you want to run a quad, what all comes with the chassis.

chassis is a complete roller minus rear paddle tires...front tire is included however.

Yukon gears are over hyped and overrated. I run OEM Honda. Just look around AT the fast Honda's and you will find that nearly all of them run OEM...there is a reason for that.

Piranha Pete assembled and ported my Puma.

OOF shear is 6 bill with shipping. That includes stinger no silencer.

I have reached the limit of a trike chassis, in order to go faster I have to switch to a 4 wheel chassis.

I ran a 41 PWK but it was somewhat choked up. 44 Lectron would be the ticket for your set up.

here are a couple pictures
