I have found that the 86 tecate shock to be very good once adjusted right. I have one, rather had one on my 85, but the chrome has worn off on the shaft so it is no good anymore. would anyone happen to have one, working or not, with a good shaft, that they would be willing to sell? I prefer this shock because of its adjustability. the stock shock is way to spongy for my taste on the 85.

I might have one I took off my 87 tecate, as I will have to look. I put the 300ex shock on mine, as I didnt have to get mine dialed in perfect for my style of riding. I will let you know...

I thought about re-chroming, but i have to figure out how much it going to be, if it can be done. plus I gotta figure out how the piston and washers go back on. i took the piston off with all the washers and valves in the order they came off in neatly in my toolbox and went to pick them up yesterday just to look and accidentally dropped it. oops. :bs: and thanks for looking for a shock.

I've got an 85 tecate. Everything but the engine for free, to any one who wants it. I tried giving it away when up at Coal Creek last year
