The piston seems to be stuck how do get it unstuck or out to clean it? This is a rear brake caliper from a 200X.

You can take the caliper off and keep pumping it until it pops the piston out. Or take a aircompresser and blow air into the inlet line hole. And use the air to push the piston out. If it is stuck real bad. You could soak the whole thing n parts cleaner for a couple of days to loosen it up.

Thanks. this is a caliper I just bought off of ebay so its not attached yet so I can blow compressed air through the hose?

Yep thats right. But take the hose off the caliper if it is still on there. And use the blower attachment on your air compressor and blow right into the hole where the hose attached. Other wise the hose could bulg of flex and lose some of the pressure to push the piston out.

becareful when you use air. that piston can come out like a bullet. point it towards something soft rags, blanket ect. watch your fingers. use low presure at first. dont loose the piston. honda wants 80 bucks for it.

Good point. I usally leave the pads on it that way they have some thing to stop it from plying out. And also maybe wrap a rag around the whole caliper when you do it. To keep brake fluid from splattering all over when the piston comes out.

the air works good if it's not stuck too bad, i turned and threaded a male quik connect and threaded it into the caliper. the problem is if the piston is stuck real bad then the compressability of air bites ya in the butt so you have to use the non-compressability of fluids(your master cylinder) to pop it out. and you thought that high school physics was a waste of time ha ha

Is it stuck OUT or IN?
If its stuck IN, do the air thing you were told about
If its stuck -out-, use a clamp.
