I hate this (the gap is what I'm talking about)- what makes my seat look like this? It was this way before I re-covered it also...

Just a thought but it looks like for some reason your seat may be bent back slightly some how,my Tri-z seat was like that when i got it,was gonna get a new one but just ended up leving it under a load of weight(off bike)to bend it back down slightly(it then sat bck against frame instead of bending back out like yours!!)

I had a 200X that had the same problem, which comes from the seat material being too tight. It's either been put on too tightly or just through time the material shinks and pulls on the plastic seat pan. I fixed this by pulling the whole thing apart, and using a small torch, fanned the flame in one spot, applied presssure, let cool, and move on to the next area. Slowly, over the course of about half an hour, I was able to put it back to the orig. shape. Do this very gradually as the plastic WILL turn to melted butter if you heat it too much!
