I just picked up this 85 350x. The guy I purchased from put new brake pads on the rear. They are dragging enough so it is hard to push.
Should I take it totally back apart?
Bleed? Or make sure he pushed in the pistons when he put them on? He might not have done that.
Just looking for some answers.
Thanks in advance

gp,,, you should tear the whole caliper apart ,, the two pins that the caliper ride on are more than likely froze up, the caliper needs to float on those pins so it can stay centered on the disc, it might be a real chore gettin them apart but it is nessessary,, when going back together use lotsa grease on the pins and never-sieze on the bolts,, it will provide you with years of trouble free riding when you are done,,,,

i just rebushed the calipers for my 200x yesterday and took some pics i'll post. the problem is that honda pushes a steel sleeve into the caliper then uses a steel pin inside it which slides ok when it's new but once water gets past those boots it's over unless you live in the desert. on mine i had to drill the mounting bolt out then push the steel sleeve out they were so bad. i then made a bronze sleeve for the caliper and a stainless pin as replacement parts. it's not bad to do since it's basic lathe work and the 350 rear caliper is the same as a 200x so you can see what i did. the real trick that required at least 6 buddyweisers was putting those boots in.

Thank for the info. I actcually thought about that, but wasn't sure. That will be the first thing I do then.
I know he didn't tighten down the two bolts on the right side (opposite of parking brake ordeal) and they still rub bad enough to make it push.
Hey, while I got you Kasey. I saw your bolt extentions for the rear end. Looks good and thought about doing that. I like the extra 2" on the side. I had a dura blue 2+2 on my 250r and would like to do this on the 350x. Just don't want to spend the money.
I have a guy offering my 2 1/2" dura blue spacers ( I think the plastic or somthing ones) brand new for $55.
Shoudl I go that route?

well i can't tell you how to spend your money ,, i have acess to all the hardware to build mine so they are real cheap,, buyin 8 grade 9 bolts and nuts with stainless washers might not be so cheap,,,,
