Has anyone had any experience putting a different carb on their 350x, or having their stock one bored out for better performance. I want to get a different carb or at least do something with mine. Will a 400 ex carb work on the 350, i thought i heard somewhere that it would but i'm not sure. and can you change the seat for the float valve needle because i think it is wore out or something cause its chewed up 2 needles on me in the matter of a month. Also does anyone have any experience with putting a hypo cam in and doing head work, just something i was thinking about doing this winter and wanted to get some idea's. Thanks

my friend just put a 400ex carb on his 350x. i will fit but it is tight in the intake manifold and you have to grind the carb to air box tube a little bigger to fit over the carb. the intake manifold needs to be opened up just a little or there will be a lip. the carb will fit into the manifold without grinding, but it will take some time cause it is real tight. the carb still needs to be adjusted so i do not know about performance.

Grinding is for amateurs!! LOL! Try sticking the tube end in some boiling water. That'll soften the rubber up enough to slide it over the carb mouth...

I had a 350X last year that had a 38mm Mikuni on it. It was NOTICEABLY faster than my stocker, and used more gas too.:D

white brothers sells a complete 38mm mikuni carb kit for the 350 x. i put one on mine last year the diffrence was night and day, i had to lean the jets out allot but once i got it right it was nasty. my dealer cost was around $140. retail is probably a little over $200
