I have been searching like crazy to figure out how to do an oil cooler mod on a 200X.

I am getting conflicting stories on it thought, some make it seem like it's for professionals only, while others make it seem like all you need is simple drill press skills.

I am amidst a rebuild on my tired worn out 200X engine and have been looking to add an oil cooler to it. I have noticed that these guys like to get toasty when being ran hard, or even just trying to cruise uphill (and these "uphills" stretch for a long ways).

How simple is the mod to do? And what could I use for an oil cooler?

Here is a pic for you . You can see were the new brass fittings are and between the fittings is a threaded plug to stop the oil flow and reroute it threw the oil lines . If you want to send me a clutch cover I will do the mod for you . Just do a search for pitbike oil coolers or mod a 350x cooler .

Found a thread showing a few better pics .

Just pulled off the 200X cover, and I believe I see what needs to be done. PM sent to shortline.

So it looks like the XR250's used an oil cooler mounted on the neck of the bike:

I'm wondering if that will work. Looks like it will fit below the headlight just fine.

Just remember. In between the two hoses on the side cover, is a plug to stop flow THROUGH the side cover passage. I needs to go in first hose-->cooler---> then back into engine.
Some people leave the plug out and it reduces oil pressure, especially higher RPM'S. Plus it doesn't cool that way either. Not enough goes through cooler.
