View Full Version : 1996 xr200r top end parts work from 200x 200s or trx200? need help

Im working on a xr200r 1996. cam and rocker and piston all need to be replace. looks asif it was ran out of oil. i was wondering if any one know what atc/trx parts would interchange, i can get really good deal on any atc or trx part but not on xr.
What would interchange with the 96 xr
Cam?
Rocker arms?
Piston?
Gaskets for top end?
timing Chain?

complete topend from any atc 185/200.i have alot of new parts that will interchange,let me know if your interested

ok give me some prices.
i have did some research a 1985 200x has the same rocker arms as the xr according to honda oem part numbers
all the 200s and 185 have a 100l timing chain so im sure it will work also been told a xr cam will work in a 200x so im sure they will interchange

does any one know about a 200x piston?

82-84 and 86-97 XR200 are almost identical engines. ATC 185,200x,m,s engines close to each other. EXCEPT some have decompressor's.And the bottom cases are different for the transmission and clutches. But most of everything crank,oil pump,timing chain,tensioners, pistons,etc. are same.
86-88 TRX200 are like the 86-88ATC200x. Nothing like any XR200.

well acoording to honda part numbers the rocker arms are same for a 96 xr200 and 85 200x but thats it? any one know if 200s or 185 will work? also what about useing a 85 200x piston and cam in the xr? a

I need to clarify.. The listed XR engines AND ATC engines are same top end wise. Some of the bottom end stuff is too. Transmission is NO, clutches.NO, Oil pump YES,Timing chain YES, flywheel> different part numbers(XR's didn't use head lights on some models), kick starter gears...NO,
To install XR piston into 185-200..NEED to bore.
