Head Gasket

Hello all,
First post, great site. I have an 84 needs a head gasket. Do you have to remove the stator to change this? Thats what the manual says, I wasnt sure if there was a way around this.

Thanks for the down load! The procedure in the honda manual is different. I got the bike and it did not have spark and I got it working. I really don't want to disturb the stator if I don't have to. Thanks alot!
