I'm working on my 84 200x motor right now trying to get the clutch apart (any ideas on how to get the nut out?). I tried to shift it into neutral and it won't shift at all. The shifter just wiggles and just won't do anything. The shaft that the shift lever goes on wiggles in and out too. Please help me. Thanks alot.
The shift shaft goes Through the eng. You have the right cover off so look and see what you unhooked. As for the nut put a Penney in the gears to stop them from turning when you turn the nut.

I didn't unhook anything I don't think. What could cause it to do this? I'm guessing I have to put the penny in the gears in the transimission in the case?
Ok in the pic you will see #1.2,3,4,5,6,7,13,17,18 are all under the clutch pack so you may not see them. the penney goes in the gears on right side. you have a grear on the clutch pack and one on the crank behind the oil rotor. those two mesh together.http://adam.cheshire.net/~dads/pic/shift.jpg

For that clutch nut removal, you need a tool called a "Honda Oil Filter and Clutch Hub Spanner" from MotionPro Industries. Motion Pro dealers can order this guy, or you can get it directly from http://www.motionpro.com/servicetools_3.html
Be prepared to pay retail. Sure beats the old "two screwdrivers and a pair of pliers" trick.

I have the special tool, it's just too tight for me to get I guess. I think I'm just gonna take it to the dealer and have them loosen it and maybe they can tell me what's up with the shifter too.

Putting heat on that nut may help, but its probably not a good idea to put an open flame on the inside of an engine due to flammable vapors about. Is it butchered up pretty bad (like most are)?

I am not sure on your particular trike but on mine if the return springs are not set then it wont shift. they easily spring out. There should be tension.

use the penny ans mentioned to lock the gears so the crank will not rotate. then bust the nut off with an impact gun. if you dont have one go to any tire shop and have them do it. the dealer will charge you out the :booty:

With the penny in, it still turns (not the gears, the clutch slips). I can't use the special wrench with the clutch springs and that plate thing in so I'm just kinda puzzled about how to go about getting it loose.

You take the four bolts and the springs off the clutch and the crown nut is underneath it.
