What's a good replacement shock for 86 250R? Are there any shocks that work work from other atv's? I wouldn't mind lowering it a inch or so. Thanks

race tech and gt thunder will also do rebuilds and that is probably your best bet. You can retro fit from 400ex and 450r, but that linkage mounts of the 450 are different, and they are both piggy back and will be a pain around your intake. You can use 86-87 trx250r shocks also.

Thanks for the reply. I would like to move the Reservoir to make more room for the intake. Not using an airbox. I may just send out the shock for a rebuild. All of the new shocks are $699 and up, that's crazy.

Please confirm this? I was under the understanding that the trx shocks took a good amount of work to work. It doesnt just bolt in from what i was told and have looked into....

I read that the TRX 250R [1986 ONLY] will fit if you space out the top mount and notch the tube that the air box hooks up too.
