can i just use contact cleaner to get the oil off of everything or will it hurt the componats? could a clogged/frozen crankcase breather do the same thing..ie.. push the oil past the seal? oh well seems like i get to use my new manual sooner than id hoped

Yes if the breather gets cloged it will blow oil past the seals. that is why trikes have a inlet and a outlets on the breather tube.
