do you mean the countershaft, by output shaft? to get that out you have to split the cases and disassemble the gear cluster. to get shift shaft off, you'll have to take the right side cover off and maybe the driven clutch to slide it out to the right.

Tecate performance is right. It's not too bad to do, but it's not the easiest thing. I'd have the book on hand or be very careful when taking apart the gear cluster. If you need to change them, it's best to do now if your top end is off.

so i cant just take the side cover off and pull the shaft out and put the side cover back on with aa new shaft

i will try it on my parts motor first and i if get it done the i will do it to my good one

one more question will the countershaft out of and 84 200s work in 85 200m
the reason i ask this is because the 200s shifts different than the 200m

with the shifter yes that would be a shortened version of what to do. You will most likely need to remove the centerfugial clutch and the clutch pack, and oil pump also. It's not really too difficult though.

to do the countershaft, you basically need to rip apart the whole motor.

Whats wrong with the 200s tranny?. Why noy just use it instead?.

i would use the 200s tranny but the crank is stripped also it needs a flywheel and set of coils nless the flywheel coils and electric start would work on the 200m

I am not certain what all you would have to do to replace the starter mountings. But i dont see why every thing else wouldnt swap.

as for the book I would go for a honda shop manual, but if that is a little to pricy for what you wanna go for go with clymer.... and you seem like you have all the right toold, but you need needle nose pliers...

i got a better idea i have a 200s bottem end and all it needs is a flywheel and a set of coils my 200m one of the coils is the same so one coil and a fllywheel is cheaper that a manual and a gasket set i guess i am going to 200s again
it will go in the 200m frame so my next question is will the wireing for the 200m work for the 200s its the same wires to hook up but is coil output the same

I am not real sure about the wiring, because isn't the M an e-start? if not then yes all the wiring will hook up the same and work... if so I don't know.

the m has e start but i dont use it and it isn't hooked up other than the the wires to the motor the same

does anyone know coil outputs for 200s and 200m
