well I think I may have discovered my top end problem. oil is spitting out the head to jug gasket on the rear. I would guess that would cause some of my trouble. the kick start return spring is also bad on the engine. I am thinking of repairing it all at one time. I am very mechanical but i do not have a press or even know if one is needed. what special tools will i need to split the cases and rebuilt the top end? what sealant should i use when i go back together?
thanks
chris

Mostly just metric wrenches and sockets. And if they are like the 200x motor i would get a impact driver if you dont have one all ready. Them screw`s inside the motor can be way to tight to get out with a screwdriver. And you shouldnt need a press for the tranny. The gears just all slide back and forth on the shaft`s. But other then that just your common car tool`s will do Feller gauge plug gapper ect.

Not sure what honda uses but Yamaha makes a sealer called Yamabond for sealing the cases back up after being split. Honda has a similar product but I don't know it's name.Don't pry on the seams to split the case. Use a rubber mallet and keep tapping on it until it seperates and make sure all the screws are out of it. Good luck.
