Can anyone give me some ideas to give my '84 ATC-200S a little more balls? Other than high performance exhaust. I am going to go with the Cobra Utility exhaust because I am riding on somebody else's property and I don't want to tick them off with increased noise. Are there any other changes that can give me some extra ponies? The thing is currently in several boxes and crates. I am slowly rebuilding it.

I cut 4 holes int he lid of my airbox on my 87 x, it increases airflow and gives a little better throttle response. Its a FREE and easy mod. But dont go crazy, becuase if you make a "swiss cheese" lid, then youll have to etiher reJet or buy a new airbox lid!!

-Ive even heard of people who run the machines the lid */off** but thats a idiotic idea....Mud......dirt.....water.....BAD

Good luck,
Rob:thumbsup: :fire:

it also depends on what kind of air filter you have on it, with a k&n, its fine to run it with the lid off, you actually supposed to take the entire box off, and buy a k&n box for it. if you are using the stock air filter, or a uni filter, i agree, keep the holes to a small number. if your like me, and i have access to the little caps that they put in hydraulic lines when you buy them, they work great to seal the holes, i cut mine so that they fit in exact, and i can then put them in if it is going to be a really muddy, or wet ride, but if it is dry i can pop them out and enjoy more power.

high compression piston, ported head, vented airbox or clamp-on filter, different sprockets...there's lots of stuff you can do as long as you keep in mind that you're not on a sport-trike.

If you ride in mud turbo's idea is a good one. I've never heard it before but it makes sense.

If you don't have to rejet your carb b/c of a mod I doubt you've accomplished much though. :D

you can come over and try mine as soon as sudco gets off their butt and ships my needles that i've been waiting 5 weeks for! i think dan is right though your going to run out of chassis before motor.
get that thing together we went to RI last weekend to a pretty good gravel bank and a guy there showed us another one that it's ok to ride in also.
