These 1985 models don't start in the cold without the kit Honda sells for 50$. It consisting of a bunch of vent hoses and the culprit jet. I believe it is the starter jet?? But I see nothing in my Clymer manual? Although I have seen the jet in the kit its about .250 long with one hole and presses into the carb body after the bowl is removed. There is no # on the jet. Does anyone know the jet size and # and if I can just buy the jet? Is it simply a larger hole to let in more gas? Thanks

I've never heard of that. Mine starts fine in all weather. However, the kit does sound somewhat familiar, but I can't seem to place it. where'd you hear about it?

It's at the dealer under Service Bulletins. I bought one and shure enough it fired right up after that, then the boss that the air screw threads in snapped off - the screw was seized. So without using my brain:doh: I took a few parts off and chucked the rest. So now I've got a used carb that won't start but runs thereafter and a 350X carb that may or not start or run by swapping in the SX jets?? So I'm thinkink can I get that jet out and drill it larger in a lathe? Or can I merely go to the dealer and try to find the correct jet? Do jet sizes correspond to anything, like mm or thousandths, as gauge is to sheet metal??
