I am refurbishing my 185s and need some help.
Here are some questions:

1. How do you get the flywheel off, the one on the left side of the crankcase? How can I hold the crankshaft still and loosen the nut? Could I use an impact wrench to jar it off?

2. How can I lubricate the rear axle.

3. The front sprocket that drives the chain has a little wobble in it, even though the bolts are tight. Is this normal or is something worn out?

4. What size chain does it have? I thought it was a size 50 but it was more narrow than the size 50 chains I have. Maybe that's because it's Japanese and mine are John Deere.

I'm sure I'll have more to ask later, but thanks for taking time to answer my questions.

I don't know all your answers, but I do know that Honda made a special tool for holding the flywheel while you unbolt it. I'm sure some of the other guys have figured out ways to do it w/o the tool, but I don't know what they are.

If you want to lubricate the rear axle bearings you'll have to take them apart. I've seen some people weld a grease fitting to the rear hub to make it easier to do.

good luck!

i think the chain is a 520.

to remove the nut use a impact gun and hold it with a gloved hand.

replace the front sprocket, but your counter shaft may be worn out

That nut isn't reverse threaded is it? I want to get the flywheel off so I can clean all the rust that is in the that case. I only discovered that it was rusty back there when the rope broke on the pull starter and I had to replace it.

Here's a funny story though. When I was replacing the rope, I accidently pulled out the rewind coil. It took me a while to get that back in, but I've learned my lesson now.

The countersprocket has some play in it normally too..

I was able to take the flywheel off of my 185s with a steering wheel puller. There is a special remover available from bike shops if you'd rather...

it is not reverse threaded. i jsutg pulled mine 5 minutes ago. you will need the puller. it is about $15 at the cycle chop. DO NOT PAY FOR THE HONDA TOOL. there is a generic one.l
