Is it ok to let the lower part of the forks rotate or will it harm the seals?

I was taking the front wheel off my 250sx, I had the rim unbolted from the drum/spindle, the front end was off the ground, then I removed the 4 nuts that hold the front axle to the right fork slider... then the axle (still screwed into the left fork slider) rotates clockwise and the wheel slides off the axle. Is this hard on the seals or forks?

Thanks

Not a problem to let them rotate. If fact, if the tubes get just a little bent, one trick is to loosten the tripple clamps and rotate the tubes so the bend points to the front instead of the back.
