has anyone tried this slime stuff you put in your tires?we have locust trees that have thornes up to 6" long and a 1/4" in dia.one of us has a flat almost every time we ride and are tired of breaking down tires. the last time I did this(2days ago) I found 3holes in the same tire.fix-A-flat just sprays out and makes a big mess, and is real hard to scrub off. is slime water based?HELP

Fix-A-Flat is the worst stuff you could ever use. It destroys the insides of your tire. If you use it more than once, the rubber on the inside of your tire is pretty much jelly.

Slime is made for atv tires. it is good stuff.

I use slime in all my atv's as preventative maintenance

There is nothing fun about limping around on two tires.
I've tried tire additives without too much luck.
Sounds like I need to go to the slime brand and start carrying a repair kit.

I've had no luck whatsoever with slime- and it costs about as much as an inner tube! If you look at the recommended amount for an ATV tire, it's a LOT! Plus, when you do end up breaking down the tire at some point, it's a stinkin' nasty mess! I bought a bead breaker, and would rather change tubes occasionally...

I should add that the holes I've tried to use Slime on have been TINY little things. I only found them by adding air and listening all around the tire for the leak.:booty:

I've had mixed results...I got this green stuff from walmart. On my 185s one tire it fixed and one tire it didn't. I did notice on the one it didnt' that I couldn't get much in there b/c the valve stem kept plugging up with the gunk. I pity the fool who has to change those tires. :lmao:

No "Slime" is not water based
Well I've used "slime" the real stuff not imitation for abut 3 years on my go karts and my buddies ATV and it worked great around my ranch and his orcherd. It wouldent work that well on a bead leak but I did seal up a couple 8 penny nail holes just about every weekend with it and I only put about a bottle in each time every 2 months or so, I also rode everyday:D :demon: :D
