Has anyone ever drilled a grease zirk into their rear axle housing. I'm just wondering if this would work.

It would work if you repalced your bearing. The bearing are usally sealed so they wont allow grease in. But you could probable find some that are the same size and not sealed to use.

I thought about doing this, but on my 200x there are holes where the arm connects to the axle housing that need to be plugged. The last time I replaced my rear bearings, I filled the housing with waterproof grease and there seemed to be less corrosion in there, but boy, what a mess. My only issue with doing this is if the grease isn't compatible with what's in the bearing. But with the housing filled with grease, I saw no evidence of water getting in, and that may compensate for any problems. My axle's out now, so I'll probably grease it when I reinstall. I think it's just filling the void so water won't, so that can't be too bad. I won't put a fitting on it unless I switch to unsealed roller bearings which are made to have the grease replenished. But then you have to deal with constant grease slinging all over the place.
My real wish is that they made replacement seals that hug just a bit tighter.
