definatly getting no spark on my 82 200e.
Lights work.
The only thing I can guess is that the coil below the tank is bad.
If I bring it in to a used shop and they match it by size should it work?
WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON THING TO GO BAD ON THIS MODEL???!!!

I would guess it is probable a bad kill switch or maybe a broken wire. The main coil hardly ever goes bad. It can but is just unlickly.
Do you have a manual for it?.
when most people have spark probs it seens to be the pick-up coil under the left cover is bad
hey Dads, is that usually the case with 2 strokes also?
 don't know have not see many 2strock people complain about spark probs. more 185's, 200s's and x's. and they probly all use the same stile sensor
ok. i lost spark on the '74 bultaco. i have traced it to either the upper coil or the lower coil behind the flywheel. there is not much wiring on this bike and i'm pretty sure it's one of those two. they run about $40 each. which do you think i should order first? my (old) haynes manual doesn't give test specs for either, so it's basically a coin toss. heads or tails? what do u think?
for the coil. if its two wire plug on's you can use any 12 v bike or trike test. if one plug on wire and ground wire you can use 200x test. the magnetic indution pick-up coil should test about the same as any trike or bike with same stile. it will eather read good or bad. so list your type and ask for test spec.'s or put up pic if you can. they can be tested with a digital ohm meter on ohms
