i have a 85 200x bored 2mm over (.80 over) it is a high rise,high compression wiesco racing piston,
i just had my head sent out for new stainless valves(for running alky),guides/seals.stock cam.

heres my question does anybody have the same piston kit with a aftermarket cam?
i'm looking for something in a midrange.the vales are cut out on my piston but i don't know for sure that they are cut enough for a bigger cam.

I don't want the hassel of the clay molding thing (it doesn't seem to work for me)
im trying to get 100mph out of her /stock gearing don't know if it is possible but gunna try like hell!!!

I think you're gonna be more RPM limited in reaching your goal with stock gearing. you're about 99% likely to have to regear then power will be the issue.

are you getting the 1mm bigger stainless intake valve? On my 200x head the machine shop messed up, i had it installed. but they did not put a new valve seat in, just opened up and angled the stock valve seats. this made the valve not go up high enough in the head. i have a web cam #172, that has .395 lift. i had to fly cut my piston, a wiseco 12:1 so the piston to valve clearence was fine. Also the installed height of the valve spring was too short. so i think that if the intake valve was put in right i would hot have had to cut my piston. so if you get the bigger valve then make sure it is done right. I think you will need a cam and valve springs so you can get more hi rmps, not midrange. The hi compression will give you the midrange. for what you want you will need to rev the engine higher than stock.

i see a large oil stain with a exploded view of a 200x at the end comming!!!!! no way in hell you will even come close to 100 mph with stock gearing !!! why intencially try to blow it up???? cause thats whats comming

i don't know why so many are obsesed with speed,,,ever been 100 mph on a trike???? its very scary and VERY unstable ..... i can't imagine doing it on a 200x either!!!!!

I agree with kasey, i have been to 100 on a trike, and a quad, and motorcycle, dirtbike, not street bike, it gets a little dicey at that fast and doesnt feel even close to what it does in a vehicle, on a the trike and quad, it felt like you where doing well over 130 in a car.

I would be looking for a really smooth streach of sand. A 6" bump at 100mph = serious air

Hey Muddie -

Listen to the guys...doing the ton on a trike has got to be a VERY scary thing! Guesstimates of about 45-55 mph top speed on the SX's up a 550' paved, flat driveway can still give a pretty cool rush! Of course, my next-door neighbor has a heavily modded banshee that, on the same driveway, will make you have to change your drawers. :ugh:

However, that driveway can't compare with the 10 acres of tight woods that we have....man, that 'shee is a slug!! :chuckle: :chuckle:

balnce your rear wheels or at least somehow make sure they are pefectly ligned up on the hub ..cause at 60 miles per hour that lil 2 mm of center in your rear wheel transforms into real nasty shaking .....i nearly lost my gastank on my old 200x..the one that was geared for top speed....the damn bike shooks so bad that things started to fall off...and 100 mph without regearing is impossible on a 200x....i cld barelly reach 80 with a 14/35 setup..then the motor topped out..heh at leas ti grew u pand said screw speed i want tourque now heheh id rather spank raptors and predators on the trail then attempt to keep up ith em in the open :fire:

the reason i wanna go fast is the only way i can race my trike is on drags and i wanna be able to compete,
i did decide to change gears.
after a checked out the gears i have i need to change them anyway, so i guess i need some ideas for gearing.
also i'm gunna try the stock size valves and cam (for now)
someone asked if i was selling my 250r ...yea it's for sale isn't everything.
