BETTER PLAN ON 6 HRS!!!! better rent a large tranny jack and have a concrete floor too. we have done all our trucks. and 5-6 hrs is a good average, what about the flywheel/ are you going to get a recon??? if not you should!!!! good luck

how hard is it to adjust the clutch. i was told that it was a special procedure??? i have a machine shop 1 mile from my house that can resurface the flywheel. i have a 2 1/2 ton floor jack that i have modified to work on my car/truck trannys. i was hopping to be able to use it. i will plan on two days since this is my first BIG truck. :)
thanks kasey

I havnt done one on a peterbuilt. But i have done one on a freightliner. And it was a cab over so it was pretty easy. But took a chain hoist and me and another guy about 8 hours start to finnish. So if that one in a conventional cab. Have fun they are a lot tuffer to get at and you have to drop the tranny out the bottom instead of just holding it up with a hoist like we did and swinging it out of the way.

The clutch adjustment isnt to bad. Most times all you do is remove the bottom bellhousing plate ( 4 bolts).
Then rotate the engine/clutch assy untill you see a small bolt holding a rectangular tab, it secures a cogged ring.
Remove the piece and rotate the cogged ring clockwise 3 to 4 notches to tighten the clutch pack.......................Troll

Good job. And congrates on getting it done. And you got it done 1 hour faster then i did on the freightliner. But we did have to stop and run to get the parts which took about 1 hour. So we were about even LOL:headbang:
