hello, well i went to work on the 200x tonight and started by rebuilding the rear master cylinder got that done and brakes bled, then on to the carb. i bought a mikuni 28 mm carb and today found an intake at an atv shop close to here. i took the old carb off and went to installing the bigger one. come to find out the bigger one with the aluminum intake i bought is much longer than stock and wouldn't fit in the frame any way i put it.:fire: can anyone that has done this mod or anyone that has seen this mod tell me how it was done? i really don't want to mess with the frame unless it is extremely necessary. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, 200x driver

Search "28mm"
if you need more let me know but you will be grinding the frame.

it's about 1.5 in. i know it put's the carb at the same distance from the head as the stock manifold by the time you add the piece of tubing for isolation. the shorter manifold will hurt low end torque but i don't know how big a deal it really is. you'll have to come up with an airbox adapter. i've never figured out who originally made my manifold.

the one i have is much longer than that. i will get it and take a picture of it. the one you have would proly work perfect without having to cut on the frame, i don't know that for sure but looks like it should. is there a name or anything on that, that would say a manufacturer. thanks

bud: that's the easiest way and will work fine, the reason i don't do that is we always seem to run into water around here and k&n's don't like water, you can't wring them out. did you get a longer throttle cable?
