Hey everyone

I just got a Barnett clutch kit for my 85 250r. Ive never installed a clutch before. It looks to be a pretty straight forward operation in the manual. Is there anything in particular I need to be aware of??

Thanks

MAKE SURE YOU SOAK THE PLATES IN OIL, GET A TUPPERWARE CONTAINER AND PUT ALL THE PLATES IN,POUR MOTOR OIL OVER TOP UNTIL THEY ARE COVERED. LET THEM SIT 10 TO 15 MIN SO THE OIL CAN ABSORB INTO THE PLATES . IF YOU DONT THE NEW CLUTCH WONT LAST 1 RIDE. TAKE YOUR TIME GOOD LUCK:thumbsup:

but I've done a couple of street bike clutches, and found
it worthwhile to replace the bolts at the same time.

The reason is that , even with very low torque specs
( like 10 lbs on the streetbikes ), the bolt heads still liked to twist off - apparently, they get pretty stressed, and so ready to
fail. After a couple of pain-in-the-*** evolutions of failed bolts, easy outs, then going to the store for more bolts, we learned
to just replace the bolts first.

I'll post this, and see if some experienced 350x'ers concur . . .
