I just bought a 1985 Honda 200s. It ran good for the first 3 days. Now it wont idle. I adjusted the idle screw and the needle and it still wont idle. I cant even let off the gas without it dying. I have to hold the gas in when i start it ( that makes it really hard to start) If you could please help i would appreciate it.

You need to clean the carb. it has dirt or some other crap in it.

If you haven't done one before, don't worry - it's really
straightforward. Try to get as little of that carb cleaner
on your skin as possible - even wear some surgical gloves or something - that stuff stings.

One more thing is there are two idle adjustments. When you said you adjusted the idle screw. Do you mean the idle speed screw on the side of the carb?.
There is also a idle mixture screw on the bottom of the carb under the front of it that adjusts the amount of fuel it gets at idle.
But if it ran good before i agree that it probable just needs a cleaning. But i wanted to let you know that adjustment was there if you need to fine tune it a little more.

any local auto parts store carries it in spray cans. there is a stronger version called carb dip (or chemdip) which will eat any rubber orings or gaskets in your carb.
if you're doing a total rebuild anyway, use the carb dip. if not, stick with regular carb cleaner.
