Ok I really need some help on this, becasue quite frankly this thing is pissign me off LOL. I just got my 350 all together And Its got a new cluct cable, and a used clutch I keep screwing with it and i Cant get any feal in the handle its just really loose. My clutch looks good? Is It possible that it is bad?

Second, I cant get her to start for nuthingIt cranks over like hell, but would not start???? Is this just another case of the hard starting 350X or Could it be something to do with the timing ???

Any help or suggestions Is Greatly Appreciated.
Thanks, Tyler

When you putch the clutch in did you put the little lifter piece in the side cover that the clutch pertch pushes against? There are two possible adjustments for the clutch if it is together right. One is in teh cable and the other is on the pertch on the handle bar. its hard to expain how the one in the cable works, but the one on the bar if you thread it out that takes up the extra slack, the one in the cable does the same thing but I can't remember which way to turn it.

Timing or hard starting could both be the problem. Did you do the timing your self? If so did you do it by the manual how to set it? YOu might consider pulling it behind somthing to get the motor turning faster, that way you can mess with the choke and throttle while its turning over. Do you have gas flowing from the petcock? Do you have spark?

I adjusted both of those adjustments all the way out and there was stil nuthing, and yes that lillte piece is in the outer case. but stil no fealing in it.

Yea, I set it myself, I am about 99% sure its right, I have done it before, by the book, I was gona pull it behind somehting, but Am waiting for a front sprocket, thanks!!!!!

Not to sound like an idiot, but whats a clutch pin? I do not have any tension at all on the handle, that is the basic problem

Everything looks right except for on that schematic, I see a 21 on there? I am not sure if my bike has the number 21??

21 is just a clip to hold in 20 and 18, the clip snaps into part 8, thats probably why you didn't notice it. Number 10 is the part I was talking about above, it should have moutned in your side case before you put it on. Did you make sure you put in all the discs and alternated them, like fiber, metal, fiber, metal.

Just wondering what you used for springs?. If the springs had compressed it will act pretty much the same way. The clutch slave cant move over enough to reach the spring plate if the springs are compressed beyond there tolerance. Did you put new springs in?.

No it doesnt have new springs in it, I just used the old ones

You may need to pull one of the springs out and measure them and see if they are still in the usable range. I dont know off hand what the tolerance is on them. Maybe Hrc200x or one of the other guys with a manual could look that up for you.

'85 to '86 clutch covers are different? Where abouts is the difference besides cable routing and clutch pertch??

Well the actual case is the same, but the piece that comes out of the case that the clutch cable hooks too, just catches in a different spot due to different cable routing
