i have a couple questions about my 200s

1-where is the drain plug to drain the oil. Is it right under pull start?

2- what is the best oil and weight to use for this. I am in NY

3-what is the cable that is attached to the pull starter and goes to the engine?

thanks

1. underneath the motor right in the middle.

2. whatever weight you use, just make sure it's MOTORCYCLE & not regular automotive oil.

3. that's probably a decompression cable to make it easier to pullstart

BigCheese - are you thinking of a 250 engine instead of the
200 ? 'Cause my 200 is different than what you are describing.

1. Oil drain is a large (13mm ? 17MM ? )
nut in front of the left footpeg. It is on the side of the engine,
not underneath. When you remove, pay close attention to how
the oilscreen and spring are configured, so you know how they
go back in. If you have your factory toolkit, the larger box end
wrench is the right one. Clean the screen, put the spring and
screen back in the way they came out, and be careful not to
crossthread the nut going back in. DEFINITELY start it by hand
and make sure you get several easy turns before it tightens up.
That's how you'll know you didn't crossthread it.

2. I think the best oil is probably motorcycle oil, like Spectra or
similar. It has an additive package that is tailored for bike
engines. Having said that, I run regular Valvoline 20W50
because it's easy to find. Not sure if synthetic is good with
wet clutches. It might be fine, I just don't know . . .

3. Compression release is the lever with the rubber cap on the
end up on top of the cylinder on the right side of the engine.
Not sure what the wire running down into the left side cover is -
I always figured it was something to do with the ignition system.

correct putt putt, the oil drain on the 200s is right infront of the shifter, and is kind of hard to get back in without crossthreading it, your also correct on the lever for the decompression for the 200m, but on the 200s it has a cable that connects to the pull start, so that it decompresses evertime you pull the pullstart.

One of the few things I could've helped with and ya'll beat me to it :lmao:
I will say I do like the screen in the 200s, dont have to buy a new filter everytime :D
