speaking of all this electrical stuff my trike's key part for the electric start is gone, its got the plastic part with the wires connecting into it but no key part, and my neutral light also doesn't work i tried to connect the wire things on the key part but that didn't get it to start and so i checked under the rear fender and there were some wires that weren't connected to anything. i'll try to post some pics up of this tommorow so you guys can help me figure this out. its not a real major issue but it would be a bit nicer if i could use the elcetric start instead of the pull start all the time.

What you need to do is get a wiring diagram to diagnose the problem. Alot of atv's use the same wiring harness for multiple uses. The wires that are not connected to anything may not have anything to hook to , or they may need to be hooked up. The wiring diagram will tell you that. You can also pick up a key switch at your local auto store if you bring in whats left of the old one.

I believe I sent wiring diagrams to this site last year for many Yamaha models. Go to the .org home page and you should be able to find those diagrams.
